This is an excellent summary. I would also throw in the interview with Ray Epps, the man who is on video, wearing a MAGA hat exhorting the crowd outside the capitol to rush the gates and break in. Many people were prosecuted for simply being there and yet this instigator was spared any legal consequences. The 60 Minutes story made him out to be the victim.

You didn't HAVE to get it. But I think most automatic trans cars are that way now. I don't do auto trans cars very much, but when I have driven them I've never been dumb enough to shift the car without pressing the brake.

Somewhat true, but remember other cases of this, like the "runaway Camry" on an interstate somewhere in kalifornia, I think, where the driver of the car full of people was supposedly calling for help while the car was "running away with them" for quite a while no matter how hard he "pressed on the brake." They eventually crashed and were all killed. Because the former cop (and supposedly "highly trained" in driving so he can blast up and down the road at will) was mashing his foot on the gas, not the brake. And while the Audi 500 was hardly a powerhouse, the Camry REALLY wasn't and isn't.
This happened to me after I washed my mats and replaced them in the car. Driving down the road I couldn't get the car to quit accelerating except by pushing on the brake. A friendly policeman happened to stop me. Luckily, seeing how confused I was he looked inside the car and saw the gas pedal under the mat! No ticket.
I quit watching when 60 Minutes blew up a ford truck with explosives and claimed faulty gas tanks. That's not reporting, it's CREATING its own news story. It's not reporting the news, but pushing a narrative.

This is a source I can trust, without having to do all the work myself. And trustworthy sources as we all know are the most valuable assets.
At the risk of sounding pedantic, I hope this conveys to you my concern about sources without sounding like a slacker/smart aleck (Baldwin).

The inmates have been getting away with it for years and they can’t understand why there is push back now. They were being rewarded for this in the past. Doing real journalism is hard. Propaganda is easier and more efficient. This won’t be Weiss’s first challenge, but it also won’t be the beginning of the end if there are no consequences for its production.
Well written. If possible I’d like Sharyl to do an analysis on the past 40 years of 60 Minutes broken down by decade and then summarize them as political vs non political and then if political, rate as either hostile or complimentary to republicans & conservatives or hostile or complimentary towards democrats & liberals. I have my own opinion that in the most recent 10 year period it would be 90/10 political and favoring Dems or attacking Republicans & conservatives by again a 90/10 ratio. But id love to see it analyzed
