A new political party is organically developing under our noses, but it doesn’t yet have a name.
This party has made odd bedfellows among those who traditionally found themselves on opposite side of the political spectrum.
It's a new coalition that includes some self-described hard left Democrats, as well as moderate Democrats, a wide swath of Republicans, and independents.
They still differ on major issues such as whether there is manmade climate change (and whether man can slow it); gun control; and abortion.
But they tend to agree on numerous key issues that have come to eclipse the others in terms of immediate importance.
Read on for details.
Issues where this diverse group finds common ground may include:
Government Corruption
They believe the federal government and its figures have become inherently corrupted by corporate interests and self-interests, and that they no longer serve the public they work for.
Media Corruption
They believe the media has become a party to corruption and information control in a way that undermines the public’s interest.
Declining Public Health
They believe the Medical Establishment is on-thettake and has furthered a radical decline in public health while pushing policies that make us sick, and avoiding studies and measures that could solve our most vexing health challenges.
Censorship and Free Speech
They believe there is an unprecedented effort among powerful interests to censor and shape free speech in a manner that subverts the Constitution. It’s designed to control and keep the public from hearing about certain facts and opinions that challenge the Establishment’s power.
Gender Controversies
They believe males shouldn’t play on female sports teams, that children should not undergo radical surgeries and treatments when they say they feel like the opposite sex, that parents have authority over their children, and that the transgender trend should be viewed in the context of what environmental factors are contributing to hormone and endocrine disruption.
Food Freedom
They believe the government has approved— and in some instances forced— Americans to eat food, drink water, and take medicine adulterated with sugars, chemicals, contaminants, and other ingredients known to cause cancer, brain damage, immune disorders, hormone problems, ADD and other neuro disorders, and a wide range of health problems. They believe Americans have the right to choose to buy untreated milk and food from local farms. They believe our children and people on food stamps are being steered toward unhealthy and sometimes dangerous food that is disrupting their metabolism, making them sick, fat, mentally ill, and diabetic.
Science Corruption
They believe the Scientific and Medical Establishments have been hopelessly corrupted by the pharmaceutical industry. It’s resulted in dishonest studies, corruption in the health insurance and hospital fields, ineffective doctors, and public health guidance that’s at odds with good health.
Election Integrity
They believe only American citizens should vote, that voters should be required to have a photo ID, that elections should take place using paper ballots on a single day with only rare exceptions, and that vote counting should be finished by midnight Election Day.
Weaponization of Government and Courts
They believe that the corrupt political class has weaponized the Department of Justice, the CIA, the NSA, the FBI, the courts, and other agencies in order to unfairly persecute, bankrupt, and punish their political enemies.
Border Security
They believe border laws should be enforced, and illegal immigration not tolerated or rewarded.
War
They believe that both parties have engaged the US in conflicts outside the US in order to advance political goals as well as feed the defense industrial complex.
Government Spending
They believe that the debt and deficit are too large, and that government spending is rife with waste, fraud, and abuse.
Examples of some notables who fit under the heading of the description of this new party include: X (formerly Twitter) owner Elon Musk; environmental activist Michael Shellenberger; celebrity Joe Rogan; journalist Glenn Greenwald; Democrat-turned-independent Robert F. Kennedy Jr.; Democrat-turned-independent Tulsi Gabbard; and Donald Trump.
These figures may not agree on all of the delineated issues, but they share more common ground than not.
Right now some of them have found a home under the umbrella of the Republican Party. It’s not because they necessarily fit perfectly there, it’s simply because more Republicans have been open to welcoming them when Democrats have rejected them.
There is little doubt this movement is growing.
What should it be named?
