This story is depressing as hell, Sharyl. At the same time, it's eye-opening. Amazing, really. The people who decided to allow illegal immigrant criminals into sanctuary cities should be imprisoned, after the criminals they welcomed are expelled.

It drives me crazy when people say this country was built by immigrants. No, it wasn’t. You can only immigrate to an existing nation. America was built by those who settled here. There was no nation to immigrate to until the descendants of those who settled America fought and died in the Revolutionary War and then built a new country. Only after that could people begin immigrating to the United States. Legal immigrants have contributed to this country, but they did not build it.

It is only grudgingly that I can believe this stuff is happening. An illegal who has raped or murdered runs free. But if I did it? In what country on what planet is this OK?

One question: Was anything in the way ICE handled these matters changed during the first Trump administration, and has anything changed now that we're in the second Trump administration?

It is not just illegal immigrants who commit crimes and go free - everyone at every level in government is a criminal felon, a knowing willing receiver of stolen goods, his paycheck from money stolen from tax slaves. They all go free looting trillions from the innocent and psychologically raping all of us through regulations of our innocent activities. I have a long rap sheet of convictions of 'violations of the law' in attempts to get an adjudication of the 9th Amendment which forbids all taxes and regulations of the innocent but courts refuse to fulfill their role as a check on the powers of the other 2 branches and refuse to spell out the 9th as Madison did the First. "Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of individuals to take any innocent actions they choose in the pursuit of their happiness. Innocent means not harmful to others except in defense." Earning, keeping, using, defending and disposing of one's money are a innocent acts. No taxes; no regulations.

Sharyl, was there ever a criminal investigation into Sabine Durden's lost son?

I say this because 911 operators end up hearing about all manner of things while working on the job, and there is a precedent from 150 years ago, when the corrupt Boss Tweed utilized down-and-out US immigrants in order to accomplish things that other people would not willingly do.

Political cartoons of the time show him welcoming refugees, like a pre-mob godfather, only to ask favors of them later.

Shocking, tragic, and avoidable to a large degree.

My guess is that someone already has the statistics but I'd like to see a study on the estimates of the total number of illegal aliens that entered the US in the 1, 2, and 4 years prior to this period and the percentage of each of those numbers this 66k represents.

I chose those spans because it isn't clear when those particular criminals entered the US so 1 to 5 is statistically extreme to generous.

Then extrapolate those percentages to the total numbers estimated to have entered over the last 12 years in 4 year increments, and contrast that to similar 4 years periods from 1980 onward.

That should illustrate how things have changed dramatically in the last ~50 years.
