So infuriating. And this story, no doubt, has been repeated often, whether we hear about it or not. A corrupt, weaponized government. Our forefathers went to war for less.

A lot less. It bears repeating the reason the 1776 Revolution became a shooting war was because Colonists got wind of the fact that the British were going to seize their arms & powder. That was the bridge too far.

It’s shocking to know how powerful our government has become and what steps they absolutely will take if they decide your an enemy because you don’t think the same as they do! If they can do it to the sitting President of the United States then regular citizens like this guy and you and I don’t stand a chance. It’s exactly what they did to the J6 political prisoners and praying grandmas. We either fix it now with Trump in office or we do not have any democracy in our country!

Sharyl, great reporting on such a vital issue regarding our ability to trust government and to therefore be able to have a healthy and enduring society.

What I found most telling was how Nacchio had been approached with unlawful requests prior to 9/11 -- so that government officials knew at the time that it would take something like 9/11 in order for them to get all that they had wanted regarding warrantless wiretaps, etc.

DC has become a societal toxin. If the Trump administration fails to secure liberty for the American people during the next four years by dealing with DC's entrenched, self serving, abusive bureaucracy there may be little hope left for your nation.

Great work Sharyl. As a long time viewer of Full Measure I remember that piece with Mr. Nacchio. I suspect that the California case you refer to was the shooting at San Bernardino. Scott Pelley’s telephone interview with the lady who worked at the facility where the shooting took place revealed that it was another inside job to make Muslims look bad, just like 911. It was entertaining to watch Scott stutter and become confused when the story the lady told contradicted what he had already been told by “law enforcement “, downright comical. Apple lost as did Nacchio as did the First Amendment. The Nacchio event led Colbert to coin the phrase “AT&Treason” back when Colbert was a good guy.

If you are referring to the shooting at the Christmas party in Southern California ..... The shooter was a devout Muslim and had funds ( on a security guard's pay) to travel to the Middle East for the Hajj in Mecca in the months leading up to the attack.. FBI had no interest in a careful search of his place, allowing reporters the run of the place before sundown.

Yes it was early December 2015. I rarely watch TV during the day, but that day I was packing to go see my daughter who was about to give birth, and had CBS on in the background. It was actually quite comical to see Scott Pelley being surprised by facts that contradicted his world view, a moment of cognitive dissonance for Scott. Here is a link to an edited version editing out his confusion.

https://www.cbsnews.com/live/#x I'm surprised it's still on the internet because the lady's testimony absolutely destroyed the official narrative of the young muslim and his 90 pound wife doing the shooting. Sally Abdelmageed was her name, and days after it happened some alternative media source published on the street interviews with people who actually saw the gunmen leave the building after the shooting and get into an SUV and left. Their description of the 3 athletic men matched that of Sally.

As a result of that incident Congress passed some law regarding letting law enforcement into cell phones, something they had not been able to do legally before the incident.

So it was a staged event, just like Pulse, Parkland and so many others. Whether it was Mossad or the FBI I can only speculate. Because the narrative defamed Muslims, I suspect Mossad.

It just illustrates that we live in an illusion of freedom. We actually live in a totalitarian state controlled by the elite through the political parties who control the government. Anyone who doesn't play ball is removed. Trump and Elon Musk are currently an unexpected shock to the system. It will be interesting to see what happens next and after they are gone.

That is the truth. But I don’t think it will take 4 years to find out. What will tell me, now that Kash is approved at FBI: who is held accountable (or not)?

Trump didn’t hold them accountable first time around for many reasons. Trump 2.0 is a changed man.

As a corporate CEO, Mr. Nacchio must have been a fairly wealthy guy. I wonder how much he had to spend on attorney fees to eventually be vindicated.

Right. "Overturned on appeal" but then reinstated. I still wonder how much he spent, not to mention how much of my tax $$ was used to convict and reconvict him. I recall another executive, of another company, years earlier, who decided to plead guilty and still had to spend > $100K in attorney fees.

NSA, the only agency that can f people over and over and over and not have anyone burn their f'ing building to the ground. W was such a a complete ass that he allowed the early national security spooks who were essentially sitting in your living room, invisible watching you, proliferate under the guide of the Patriot Act. This is why there are uprisings and this is why "democracy" is a great place to hide tyranny in plain sight. I've always tended towards conservatism. But conservatives surre did like to peak into cotizens' lives and screw around. And now Democrats are super comfy while doing the same. If it can happen to the Republican Presidential candidate it can happen to anyone.

Go figure... Google began as a government - taxpayer - grant from Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency(DARPA).

Funny how DARPA created LifeLog which was then given to Zuckerberg and renamed Facebook in 2004. Not.

All are the result of our Intel Agencies gaining intel on worldwide groups to overthrow governments and is now - as Sharyl experienced around a decade ago - using on American citizens for quite a long time now.

USAID revelations are only the tip of the iceberg.

Once again Sharyl knocks it out of the ballpark. It's also a reminder of all the things that happened to her when she was investigating and reporting on the Obama Administration's Fast and Furious gun running operation that slandered American gun dealers and lead to the death of a Border Agent.

Although not the perp here , the Trump DOJ needs to look into Hunter's emails and texts

- Former FBI Director Louie Freeh was working with Hunter on Burisma. One of his roles was interfacing with "top FBI officials" (per his emails to Hunter) and working with FBI personnel in the US and in Europe to assist with the Burisma project. Until Hunter's sugar daddy sued the Marco Polo group the emails were available on the internet. At a minimum the President and Congress need to know who Freeh was working with inside the FBI. Lest anyone have questions about what Burisma was buying the put it in writing... "Biden Influence"

The insider dealing also involved the Boies lawfirm. They were the lead on the Burisma influence peddling, working with Blue Star Strategies. The Boies firm was also working on another insider scheme to get a $2.4 Billion tax credit for JP Morgan although the regulations specifically precluded it. It was the perfect Bank Robbery but with the Bank robbing the taxpayers. A confidential IRS ruling ( after being blessed by Barney Frank) and no funds would be missing from the Treasury but $2.4 billion would disappear from JP Morgan's tax bill. It is not clear if the deal was ever concluded.
